It took me a while to figure out why the hooky part is made like it is~ right! It does keep it on the line if the wind picks up. I mainly use mine indoors for drying "unmentionables" either over the shower bar or an over-the-door hanger in the laundry area. These have been so popular with my family that I ended up giving them all away and now I'm ordering more. I've had the cheap type from the dollar store but the hooks always break on those. This kind is sturdy and saves $$ because your elastics don't get all stretched out like in the dryer.
