I bought this and put it in my backyard for clothes drying and love it! It comes with a green sleeve to put in the ground, we put in a bag of cement around it and rocks at the bottom to drain water, although this is not required. You can cap the sleeve when you pull out the rack and it stays flush with the ground. When you put in the rack, it opens up easily like an umbrella and is almost instantly ready for your clothes. The line is plastic covered string, and it is really strong and adjustable. The frame is aluminum and doesn't rust. I have used this many times to hang my clothes and I think it looks decent in the yard, as well as a clothesline could, I guess.
