Description of Wizard Detectors 25506 Lumber Wizard III Metal Detector
The Lumber Wizard III is a powerful, precision, hand held metal detector which gives you an audible warning plus a built in vibrator activates for use in noisy environments. Unit can detect a solid piece of metal at approximately 5" deep, a large deck screw at up to 3", a medium nail at up to 1 1/2", and a paneling nail at up to 3/4". Made of durable, high impact plastic, 9 volt battery not included.Recycled wood is wonderful to work with, but you run the risk of damage each time you machine it. Old nails, screws, and fasteners will wreck expensive planer, jointer, and saw blades quicker than a wink, but the Lumber Wizard can keep that from ever happening in your shop again. A metal detector for your wood, The Lumber Wizard locates metal buried in wood up to 6 inches thick. In addition to the sound alert, you can plug an earphone into the jack or set the unit to vibrate instead. A smart designer engineered the handle with a little bend in it, so you won't be dragging your hand along the wood surface, a small touch we appreciate. Customer Review: wizard distribution is a joke - no service

I have a Lumber wizard I got a while back - it worked for a while but now it doesn't work, and having paid $100 for it I tried to get it fixed... You can search all day and night on the internet, call the numbers on the instructions, the company that makes this is now hiding behind some internet distribution outfit that won't return e-mails or phone calls requesting info on how to get it fixed.
Forget it, no after purchase service at all. Very disappointing $100 piece of junk I now own.
