Tools and Hardware Reviews of Safer Ant & Roach (2 Pack)Customer Review: Minty fresh scent, now with bonus ant death! Summary: 5 Stars
This minty fresh spray is really fantastic to use all around the house where unpleasant odors lurk and ants crawl. Once there was an ant hill behind my outhouse, and I tried everything to keep the stench down -- Febreeze, Arm & Hammer, Country Fresh Raid -- but it wasn't until I discovered Poison Free Ant & Roach Killer with Natural Mint Extract that I could really keep the smell under control. And wouldn't you know it, the durned thing took care of that ant hill, too!
Customer Review: Bio-friendly Insect Spray Summary: 5 Stars
This bug spray does the job on contact and leaves a not unpleasant minty fragrance in the air instead of the harsh odor of most sprays.
Customer Review: A very important point about this product... Summary: 4 Stars
This product will not work unless the can is shaken well before each spray. Even during sprays, if at all possible. The ingredients will quickly seperate in the can, so if it's not frequently shaken it will only spray the inert stuff out. That only makes the ants take a short nap. Then they're up and raring to go again. If it's shaken frequently it works very well. Kills the little buggers, dead. The smell is peppermint oil.
Customer Review: Killed Sugar Ants Pronto Summary: 4 Stars
Can't say how this works on other bugs, but on the little black ants and the mini sugar ants, the spray killed them literally on contact. It did not seem to do much of a job at keeping the ants away, however, but as an insecticide - so far so good. As far as the smell - seems quite nice to us and not overly strong as some have complained about.
Customer Review: Strong Minty Smell -- Too strong for my cats Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this product to kill ants and avoid any poison around my 5 cats. I have found that the odor is a bit noxious to my cats (and to me, actually) and they are running away from an area they typically love because their sense of smell is being assaulted.
My main reason for choosing this as an indoor product was to use something safe for my kitties. I know that the mint smell will fade and it certainly beats toxic chemicals used INSIDE the home. That said, I surrounded my home's outer perimeter with a granular ant bait (not organic or pet safe but effective). Over the past few days (since before I ordered the Poison-Free spray, I have not seen any of the little Argentine ants that seem to have invaded our home, so I cannot speak for the effectiveness of this spray.
Should our little ants come back, I'll give them a little blast and report back. Otherwise, I have found treatment of the outer-perimeter of my house during the Spring and Summer as the most effective treatment. This year I did it late .... so the little critters made themselves known. I used cinnamon and talcum powder also in one sensitive area that the scouts were making their way from and this definitely slowed things down. The smell of cinnamon was definitely more pleasant than the mint :)
I hope this works for you, but given the way it affects my kitties, I am giving it 3 stars. I think my perimeter treatment has kicked the ant population down hugely and will continue to do so.
