He does a great job keeping my acres of hardwood flooring dust-bunnie free. He goes under furniture, wiggles between chair legs, transitions from hard floor to carpet nicely, finds his home base to recharge (most of the time), and recharges really quickly - I can run him several times a day, if I need to. The lighthouse works well to keep him corralled. I was also able to use lighthouses from an older roomba to add to my set-up. The brush cleaning tool is great.
After about two weeks, the brush head module stopped working, so Roomba shipped me a replacement very quickly. It me about 5 minutes to install (including finding a screw driver). The instructions were great. If your roomba makes a clunking sound, call customer support - they'll talk you through the diagnosis.
Does this completely replace a "conventional" vacuum? No. Does this radically reduce the times I need to pull out the "conventional" vacuum? YES!

I bought this Roomba because I moved into a new home and felt like I was constantly sweeping to try to keep the laminate and marble floors looking clean. I love it! I feel like I can use it daily and my floors will always look clean.
It is not as quiet as I thought it would be based on other reviews. I tried using it while folding laundry and watching television, and had to turn the volume up fairly high to hear the tv.
It did a great job of picking up pet hair and took itself back to it's charger when needed. The towers that came with it were great at blocking it off from areas that you want to keep it away from. It would be nice if it came with more.
I have several pillars in my entryway that have bases that are approximately one inch high. It got stuck on one of these one time. Other than that, it had no problem navigating over the floor trim or from the marble onto carpet.

We have been using our Roomba 550 for over a month now. The best words are "we love it." It is not only a great cleaning machine, it is also great entertainment just watching it work. We have two shedding dogs and a cat. We were running the big tank vac every day. Now, we just push the button on the Roomba and do something else. It does rugs, hardwood and laminate floors equally well. Rug fringe, extension cords, dog tails...all are no problem. It cleans under sofas, chairs and tables just as well as open areas. It never hurts the dogs or us. We have had nothing but good experiences with the Roomba. It does require regular brush cleaning due to all the dog and cat hair it picks up, but it only takes a minute or two. I can usually find something wrong with any machine, but this one is the exception...We are saving up for a second one.Customer Review: Love it!!!

I love the roomba 560. I wish I would have purchased it years ago. I have it scheduled to run once a day and I've never had a cleaner floor. We have 3 pets and 2 kids so I have been constantly battling pet hair and cereal on the floor. No more. Now, all I have to do is make sure the house is picked up so the roomba can clean. It has actually motivated me to be better about picking up toys after the kids. I empty the waste container once a day, but probably don't clean the brushes more than a 2-3 times a week, as it takes a while to get the hair off the little spaces around the brushes. I was initially concerned that it would not clean as well as a regular vacuum, and it might not. But, since I run it every day it keeps a much, much cleaner floor. I love it so much I'm considering buying the scooba to wash the floors as well.Customer Review: I love it!

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. While I was concerned about buying a cleaning product for my wife as a gift (treading thin ice here) - I believe she really is enjoying it. In fact, she even named "him" 'Fred'.
I bought this model because it has the scheduling function and it comes with two lighthouses/virtual walls. I've never used them as lighthouses, just as walls. Underneath my A/V cabinet - Fred always will eat my wires, so I dedicated a virtual wall under the A/V cabinet just to keep it away from this area.
In a nutshell, he does an excellent job at cleaning - we only periodically (every few weeks) pull out the regular vacuum cleaner to get spots that he can't get to.
I highly recommend this product.
