Amazon came through again. Not only was the product priced well and delivered promptly, but it is performing even better than expected. This is our second Roomba. The first did a fine job and died of old age, and was given the sendoff it rightly deserved.
Our new 550 has taken over admirably. She seems to be a bit more powerful, and the battery seems to have about 50% more juice before she returns home to her charger. Just remember to clean the pan after every use and check and clean the brushes periodically. All in all, a fine addition to the family.

Got this as a Christmas present (I asked for it). I have hardwood floors through most of my main level and it does a great job. We have a husky who sheds like crazy and I do sometimes have to empty the container and clear the bristles before it finishes our large family room. Due to the design, both of these tasks are very easy. The brush and roller both remove easily and are easy to clean.
It does a great job in my kitchen too, where we have slate tiles which are somewhat uneven. The "sweeper" on the side even cleans under the front of the fridge.

My husband wanted me to buy a Roomba when it first came out and i said no. I decided with our daughter and Grand daughter now living with us that I needed some extra help around the house short of hiring a housekeeper. I started thinking about what was driving me crazy the most and decided it was the floor constantly needing to bo vaccuumed and swiffered. I knew what I needed.... a Roomba. I decided to order the Roomba when Amazon.com offered it at a great discount. My daughter ownes one and loves it and I put mine to work right away. It's amazing how much dust and dirt this little machine scoops up even after I swept the floor (we have tile throughout the house). It gets stuck a lot on flatfooted furniture but always has a full dirtbin. It's great to go to work and come home to a clean floor. On my days off I have it scheduled to clean at 1 AM and have a clean floor before Breakfast. I recommend it to any working mom.Customer Review: Best purchase ever!!

I was skeptical when I first purchased the Roomba, but not anymore. I have one dog who sheds everywhere and a long haired cat. We used to have hair and dust on the furniture constantly even an hour after cleaning and dusting. Now even when the sun is shining on the floors I can't see any. My wife has named it and it gets about the same attention as the kids do :-). If you maintain it I think it is a great product but I can see where it could fail easily without the proper maint. I would recommend this to anyone, and have.
