Customer Review: No Problems with the Sensor Pump

There are many reviews for this item but I decided to write one because some of the problems others experienced appear to have been fixed by the manufacturer.
I purchased a two-pack of this automatic soap dispenser at a warehouse store to replace another brand of hands-free pump that had worked eradically, and finally stopped altogether. Right out-of-the box there were no issues. I primed the pump and it worked perfectly, expelling plenty of soap. After a month, it continues to perform reliably without issue.
The batteries in the automatic soap pumps I used in the past were located in a slide-in compartment on the bottom of the unit. That design made battery replacement easy, but the batteries were vulnerable. If any water spilled on the countertop, which happens, it seeped into the compartment and the pumps would cease to work.
The small phillips screw that secures the battery compartment in the simplehuman dispenser should make it more difficult for water to infiltrate and hopefully will add to the longevity of the unit. I do wish the battery compartment was located above the countertop just to ensure no water contact, but that is my only complaint with the unit.
The footprint of the pump is quite small so it takes up very little space on the counter, yet holds almost two cups of liquid soap. Compared to my last unit, this one is infinitely more attractive and runs in a smoother manner. I also appreciate the blinking blue light which alerts that it is time to replace the batteries. In my old unit when it stopped working if I didn't know if it was because the batteries needed to be replaced, or if there was another problem, like a clogged tube or water in the battery compartment. This brand of dispenser is a vast improvement over my old one, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.
