My husband is severely germaphobic. We've had a touchless garbage can in our kitchen for years and we love it. I got sick of him trying to pump the soap with his elbow, or worse, calling me from upstairs to come down and pump it for him. So, I looked into several automatic soap dispensers. Once this arrived, I put in the clear liquid soft-soap. I put it on the highest setting to release the most amount of soap; I don't think the smaller setting would be enough soap, so I'm glad it's adjustable. My husband came home from work and absolutely loved it. After a few days of using it, he asked me to buy more for each of our bathrooms. Today I purchased four more. We've had our soap dispenser for a few months now and recently found it to be dispensing a tiny amount of soap (regardless of setting) which took a while to come out. We opened it up to check the motor, primed it, etc, but it still didn't work well. Then I thought that maybe the soap was just too viscous (maybe from the cold or just the type of soap - clear Softsoap). Once I added a little water (which I stirred with chopsticks inside the unit itself)and the thicker soap got pumped out, then we had very nice flow and a more than adequate amount of soap. I had to reset the amount to setting "1". Anyway, it was an easy solution. If you're concerned about introducing germs, then you could always boil the water to be added beforehand.Customer Review: Love this product

So my in-laws have this and got us one for Christmas. It works perfectly! Just don't use too thick a soap and it won't clog. She suggested to use the Equate brand(clear soap) you can find at walmart and cheaper with equal performance to name brand. Although I already wash my hands pretty frequently now changing dirty diapers, I'll have to admit that I do find I wash my hands more often now with this handy thing at the sink. ALSO, it's so much easier when your hands are really dirty and you don't have to worry about washing off the soap dispenser, i.e. dealing with raw meat, oily hands. I would definitely recommend this product, and I'm thinking about ordering one for my own parents next Christmas :)Customer Review: Looks great ... Works better!

We already had a sensor soap pump but a recent kitchen remodel demanded that we find another whose style fit in with our kitchen's new look. I'm happy to report that the Simplehuman Sensor Soap Pump not only looks sleek but also performs beautifully. With our old dispenser it was necessary to water down the Softsoap in order for the pump to be able to work. Even then it was necessary to make two hand passes in order to get it to dispense enough soap. Not so with the Simplehuman ... it's one and done! The indicator light at the top eliminates the guess work as to when dispense cycle has finished. These are awesome dispensers. We purchased our 1st 2 in 2008, for our bathrooms. Item works on 4 AA batteries. There is a dial that you set on how much soap dispenses (from a small drop to about a 4 or 5 drop).
And that it holds 14 ounces of soap you don't have to fill it often.Now I have one for the kitchen.
Great item for those who don't like messy soap bar scum on your sink,and those who dislike hand pump store bought dispensers.
Simplehuman Company has some great products we also have their foot button kitchen trash can (corner style).
I have now kept my eyes on this company when I need to make purchases.
