We set this dispenser up yesterday, and it does everything it's supposed to do. I installed batteries and filled it with clear Soft Soap,and waved a hand underneath the electronic beam. Voila! A nice-sized dollop of soap lands in my palm. Can't beat it so far, but we have only had it a day. I think I'm going to love having this on the counter. It looks very stylish, too.
11/26/2010: Unfortunately this thing did not live very long. I bought another just like it. It didn't last much past the warranty either. This one needs to go back to the drawing board. Great idea -- doesn't work long.

My husband and I are really enjoying this dispenser. My only regret is that we didn't have one when our children were small. It works first time-every time and dispenses the perfect amount of soap. Also, since I work at a hospital and know that hand washing is one of the universal precautions for protection against germs, I set up my dispenser where the little blue light would flash for 20 seconds which is the standard time frame for thoroughly washing one's hands. The dispenser is sleek and modern-looking and there is no guesswork as to when you need to refill with soap. Very valuable product!!Customer Review: Works Like A Champ

I saw this item and thought this would be good for use in my bathroom. The only instructions I read was about the priming because it was on a separate small piece of paper. I don't remember reading anything about what kind of soap to use so I put in the batteries, filled the soap dispenser with my usual Dial Gold Liquid Soap, primed the dispenser and set it to 3 and it has been working great ever sense. No clogging issues or issue of any kind. Thinking about getting one for the kitchen and 2nd bathroom. It's a great little dispenser. I'm actually shocked to see the poor reviews here as I purchased mine a year ago on a whim from a local store. My husband laughed at me for buying another gadget but even he has found this thing to be a great addition to our kitchen. We have experienced no problems and have only replaced the batteries once. We've always had ours set to the first setting and find that it's quite enough soap. It's great that we don't have to ever touch the soap dispenser with our food prepping hands. I'm probably going to purchase several as gifts.Customer Review: Best on the market!!!

I bought this beacause my daughter had a hard time pushing down on regular soap dispensers. It works perfectly! Easy to use. Simply fill it with the soap of you choice. In the spot where the soap dispenses, there is a very small plug which controls the flow which you need to gently pull out and release (not break off) in order to break the vacuum seal. I had previously bought cheaper ones, Like the Emerson brand which do not work and make alot of noise when dispensing. Simplehuman is the best for the money!!
