Customer Review: Great purchase.
Summary: 5 Stars

Great price for all the different seeds. They are growing well. I'd buy again.

Customer Review: Nice variety, but needs more info
Summary: 4 Stars

I am a complete noob at gardening, but wanted to try growing some of my favorite herbs. The smallest seed packets I saw locally ran about $3-5 for EACH herb. This kit seemed like a better deal: less waste if I messed up, plus other herbs to try. I am mostly satisfied with the purchase, but I do have a few concerns that may keep me from recommending this for other first-time herb growers.

First, there were no planting/care instructions. The seed packets had some information on the culinary use of each herb, and sometimes 'days to maturity' and/or 'final height' information. I needed more information to get from seed to herb so I had to look up each of the 12 herbs. To contrast, I ordered some cat grass seeds from another seller at the same time, and the packet came with a full page of instructions. Something that extensive wasn't expected, but even a basic "water only when soil is dry, full sun" vs "keep soil evenly moist, partial shade" note for each type would have helped. Of course, this wouldn't be an issue for a more experienced gardener.

Two of the seed types aren't showing any green yet (three weeks after planting into containers), but this could definitely be User Error. The packaging method has changed since the listing photo and some of the earlier reviews: twelve paper envelopes in one larger plastic envelope instead of the pill box or plastic bags. The included basil is Lemon; I wound up buying a separate packet of my preferred basil variety after receiving the seeds.

To me, the best part of this kit is the large variety of seeds for the price. It's allowed me to try growing small quantities of some less-familiar herbs that I wouldn't have bothered to buy individually. Also, there are enough different herbs that there should still be something to harvest even after I inevitably kill a few plants along the way. However, I think the product would be better if it came with even basic instructions.

Customer Review: Good Quality Herbs
Summary: 4 Stars

The seeds arrived well packaged and in a timely manner. Mine did not come in little plastic pouches (as pictured). They arrived in what looked sort of like pill boxes with the name of the seed in each section printed on the tab. The pill boxes were shrink wrapped and delivered in a padded envelope. I planted them a few days after they arrived and at this time most of them have already started to sprout and grow. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because they did not arrive with any planting instructions so I'm not sure if the ones that haven't sprouted yet needed something done to them prior to planting or if they are just slow to sprout.

Customer Review: Better off buying locally
Summary: 3 Stars

My biggest complaint is the included basil is actually lemon basil -- big difference. It's hard to believe they would replace the basil you expect with one you probably do not want.

The packaging could be better. Instead of the pill boxes other reviewers received or the resealable plastic bags in the picture, this came with glued paper pouches inside the larger plastic and foil pouch. With many of these seeds being smaller than a pinhead, you have to be really careful to keep the pouch upright.

Basing my 3 stars assuming the seeds will sprout. Will update if they're duds.
